Where? What? When?

Coffee & Theology/RCIA meets each Sunday at 1045 in the Center Chaplain’s Office Conference Room. This study begins on October 7th with a look at our Sunday Liturgy Celebration using Bishop Robert Baron’s DVD Presentation “The Mass”. In it, Bishop Barron provides “inspiring insights into the mystery of Christ’s presence in our lives and the centrality of the Eucharist as the fullness of that presence”. If you are a non-Catholic adult and desire to learn about the Catholic Faith, this is an excellent way to begin that process. If you are a Catholic adult, this study will provide you a much better understanding of the meaning of the “Real Presence” of Jesus in our lives. If you would like to join us just come to the CCO following Sunday Mass or contact Tom Dean at 706-860-6946 or lectors@saintmichaelparishfg.org
CWOC Faith Studies are Mondays at 0930, Building 13. Childcare is provided.
Community Council Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 1730 in Building 13.
Bible Study meets each Tuesday at 1900 for fellowship and the Bible Study starts at 1930 in Building 13 at the Religious Education Center (on the 2nd Tuesday we meet in Building 7). The current Study is “The Bible Timeline – The Story of Salvation” by Jeff Cavins. Come and join the group on this exciting trip through the Bible. Contact Tom Dean at 706-860-6946 or lectors@saintmichaelparishfg.org
Adoration and Benedictions are at Saint Michael’s on Wednesdays at 1830.
Book Club meets each Thursday at 1930 in Building 13 at the Religious Education Center. The current book being read is “Jesus of Nazareth – From The Baptism In The Jordan To The Transfiguration” by Pope Benedict XVI. It is an excellent book and teaches us a great deal about our Catholic Faith. If you would like to join us just come or contact Tom Dean at 706-860-6946 or lectors@saintmichaelparishfg.org

Congratulations to the First Communicants; may they continue to grow with the Lord as they share in the joy of this Eucharistic meal as they continue their faith journey. Thank you to all those who were a part of their formation; teacher Mr. Orlando Lopez-Camu; assistant Mrs. Lucy Shy; and teen classroom volunteer Mr. Matteo Incorvaia.   May you continue to guide our youth in love and faith.

Please submit your names ASAP if you would like to attend either or both of these events.

  1. On Thursday, May 16th, Fort Gordon held a post-wide Volunteer Appreciation.  The following members of our community were recognized for their volunteer service; Mr. Richard and Mrs. JoAnn Capozzoli, SFC Brian Musha and Mr. Loren Simpson. If you volunteer here at the chapel, or anywhere on Fort Gordon, please make sure you set up a VMIS account and record your volunteer hours, teens, this includes you too.  Let’s have more members of the Catholic Community recognized next year.

  1. With the inevitable changes that take place in a military community over the past year, we found ourselves in a need of willing volunteers to take over some key positions. We need a young person/ couple to take the lead with our youth in the Catholic Ministry (CYM). This position is vital as we need to keep our youth interested in their Faith.

We also need volunteers to lead our Welcome Sunday fellowship and Hospitality ministries (after each Sunday mass/ special events). If you are interested in any of these volunteer positions please contact the plc@saintmichaelparishfg.org or speak to Frances or Agnes.

  1. Due to the long Memorial Day weekend, we will NOT have Welcome Sunday this month.

  1. CCD teachers- Please turn in your books and study materials to the PLC office.
